To ensure fair and transparent use of ShareHire rental equipment, the following late fees policy applies:
1. Late Fee Calculation
- If equipment is not returned by the agreed-upon return date and time, a late fee will be charged on a pro rata basis at 2x the standard day rental rate for each day or part of a day the equipment is late.
2. Examples of Late Fee Application
- For example, if the day rental rate for the equipment is $100, the late fee will be charged at $200 per day or part thereof.
- If the equipment is returned 6 hours late, a late fee of $200 will be applied.
3. Extension Requests
- Customers may request a rental extension prior to the return date, by booking extra days/weeks in the app.
- If approved, the standard rental rate will apply, avoiding late fees.
4. Grace Period
- ShareHire provides a 1-hour grace period for returns.
- Late fees will begin accruing after this period unless an extension has been pre-approved.
5. Damage and Replacement Costs
- In addition to late fees, any damage or loss incurred during the extended rental period will be charged as per our Damage and Replacement Policy.
6. Payment Terms
- Late fees will be automatically charged to the payment method on file unless alternative arrangements are made with ShareHire within 24 hours of the late return.
We appreciate your cooperation and encourage timely returns to ensure smooth operations and availability for all customers.
